The Nets are finally ready to move from New Jersey to Brooklyn, New York, with their new name and a logo. Part-owner of the NBAs Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z, revealed how he played a part in the design of the team’s official logo as it was launched. “The Brooklyn Nets logos are another step we’ve made to usher the organization into a new era,” Jay-Z said in a statement to ESPN, “The boldness of the designs demonstrate the confidence we have in our new direction. Along with our move to Brooklyn and a state-of-the-art arena, the new colors and logos are examples of our commitment to update and refine all aspects of the team.”

Although the team’s jerseys are not available until September, fans can now purchase their Brooklyn Nets gear, including T-shirts and other apparel with the new logo. However, not everybody is going to be supporting the team, as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said of the relocating team, “My message to them is, goodbye,”  adding, “You don’t want to stay; we don’t want you. That’s one of the most beautiful arenas in America, they have a chance to play in, it’s in one of the country’s most vibrant cities, and they want to leave here and go to Brooklyn? Good riddance, see you later.”
