ROCK ON! METALLICA RETURN WITH FESTIVAL, MOVIE, AND MORE!

Heavy metal legends, Metallica are gearing up to play their 1991 ‘Black Album’ at their Orion Music + More festival, to be held June 23rd-24th in Atlantic City, where they also plan to play 1984s ‘Ride The Lightning.’  The band spoke with Rolling Stone to reveal how they are planning an eight-show run in Mexico City, which will feature an extravagant new stage that is a component of a 3D movie Metallica are developing with director Nimród Antal.

So, with the band running their own festival, playing a number of shows and working on their own movie, it looks like a busy summer ahead. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said, “Do your festival, do your movie – it’s all so cool,” adding, “Variety is the spice of life.”

Ulrich revealed why Metallica decided to create their own festival, saying, “Getting your own festival off the ground is not something you do overnight. What we’re trying to do with the Orion festival is certainly rooted in our European festival experience over the last three decades. The main thing you get at these festivals is diversity and variety, and the whole experience of the weekend is about discovery.”
